Albany, NY -- 10.22.16
In classic Calhoun fashion, the musician, activist, and assembly candidate is trying to reach voters with a campaign commercial that defies the tone of the National debate and violates the typical formula of campaign ads. The commercial puts his platform to lyrics.
“If you vote for Patricia Fahy,
She’s only gonna do what Cuomo says she’s
Never gonna stand up against corruption,
That’s why you gotta vote Calhoun.
He’s for the constitution and for human rights,
And for ending the Common Core.
He doesn’t have a lot of corporate money,
So he’s going door to door.
Vote Calhoun… Vote Calhoun… the election is coming soon.”

Calhoun has run a grassroots campaign with a platform focused on Education Reform, Criminal Justice Reform, Environmental Protections, Human Rights, Civil Liberties, and especially fighting corruption. His campaign slogan is “No More Business and Politics as Usual.” This is not the first time that Calhoun has infused songwriting and music video with politics. He also made a music video in his effort to stop Red Light Cameras from coming to Albany, which can be seen here:
