Thank you for taking notice of our recent participation at a Common Council Meeting. Our primary concern is the City's responsiveness and democratic process. We are therefore particularly happy with the swiftness of this response. We are concerned, however with what is considered myth and what is considered fact.
We understand that instead of having a face to face discussion with us, or contacting our representatives, you would prefer that we contact the email email@example.com. We are happy to oblige with this. This open letter will be shared on social media and sent to the email per your request. In addition, we believe that a face to face meeting is necessary to ensure that the ReZone process is transparent, democratic, and inclusive.
We understand that you and members of your staff have taken the time to meet with various leaders of neighborhood associations, and residents involved, but you have not reached out to business owners and other interested parties. We are not interested in mythology or politics, but an open discussion about the very real concerns that members of our community share. Many of us have talked to community members who knew nothing at all about the ReZone until we brought it to their attention.
A 300+ page document cannot be simplified into and clarified by 4 supposed myths and 4 supposed facts in a one page response. We request a meeting. Please email us at ReZoneLark@gmail.com. We look forward to the same swift response as we search for a common solution.
